The Microsoft Research Lab - Asia (MSRA) Media Computing group is seeking video streaming and deep reinforcement learning research interns to conduct new research in one of several areas, including bandwidth estimation, network latency estimation, rate control, and streaming policy control. We provide multiple positions of research interns in Beijing. Internships may last at least 6 months.
Responsibilities 1. Research, develop, implement and evaluate novel algorithms related to a certain concept/module. 2. Collaborate closely with researchers in the team.
Basic qualifications 1. Excellent software development skills with C++, Python. 2. An understanding of deep reinforcement learning. 3. Experience in implementing algorithms in reinforcement learning. 4. Familiar with deep learning frameworks (e.g.,tensorflow, pytorch). 5. Capabilities of quick problem solving. 6. Good English reading and writing.
Preferred qualifications 1. In the process of obtaining an advanced degree (PhD preferred) in signal processing, machine learning, or related field. 2. Specific deep reinforcement learning skills on streaming policy control. 3. Familiar with optimization algorithms and libraries.
